Our signature events include The Himalayan Dash, The Desert Dash and The Sanctuary Dash, all carefully designed to give participants the thrill of driving off-the-beaten track with the best possible stays and highest standards of safety.
How They Work
Each Signature Event is neither a race nor a rally but a luxurious self-drive motoring expedition where participants drive together in a group following convoy rules. All vehicles start together every morning and end the day at the same night halt. Adequate halts are planned in between to discuss directions, take pictures, eat, and enjoy the holiday!

No special vehicle preparation is required to participate. Both 4WD and 2WD vehicles are eligible. Cougar Motorsport takes care of all details including:
- Planning the route and itinerary to include the ‘must see’ sights
- Road books and communication equipment
- Coordination of the convoy
- Local guidance and support from experts
- The best boarding and lodging available en-route
- Activities and special experiences
- Medical and service support
- Liaison with local authorities for permits, wherever necessary
We curated The Himalayan Dash in 2010, to help passionate motoring enthusiasts tick off one of the most aspirational drives on their bucket lists, from Manali to Leh and Srinagar, with high levels of comfort and safety. 11 editions have been successfully completed since then, with The Himalayan Dash earning an envious reputation of being one of the most luxurious road trips to Ladakh. The route is carefully planned to provide an unforgettable and once in a lifetime motoring experience, with relaxed driving and adequate breaks to allow for gradual acclimatisation. The itinerary is flexible with options to drive in the full excursion or return after completing each leg. The experienced instructors and medical & service support cater for all contingencies during the drive.
With the Himalayas as its playing field, The Himalayan Dash is scheduled to extend to cover additional iconic drives in Uttarakhand as well as in the North East including to Arunachal, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Sikkim and Bhutan.
We started our journey in 2009 with our flagship event, The Desert Dash, a unique TSD (Time Speed Distance) rally, combining the thrill of Motorsports with the luxury of fine, hand-picked hotels in Rajasthan. The entire event was designed carefully to give participants the thrill of driving off-the-beaten track with a focus on trying an entirely new experience, competing with like-minded people and having fun.
After 5 highly successful editions as a competitive motorsport rally, The Desert Dash has evolved into one of India’s most luxurious driving expeditions in Rajasthan. The itineraries are changed periodically to cover new destinations in the Thar desert and now scheduled to extend further into parts of the Rann of Kutch as well.
We added The Sanctuary Dash to our portfolio in 2011 to create an exclusive driving expedition across renowned Tiger Reserves and spectacular forest lodges. The inaugural event provided the ultimate interpretive wildlife experience across the Tiger Reserves of Panna, Bandhavgarh, Kanha and Pench with stays at the luxurious Taj Safari Pashangarh, Mahua Kothi, Banjaar Tola and Baghvan forest lodges.
The Sanctuary Dash is soon scheduled to extend its coverage to additional Tiger Reserves and scenic drives in North as well as South India.
