The ninth edition of the Himalayan Dash started after a pre-event cocktail at The Oberoi Wildflower Hall Shimla and covered more than 1,500 kms over its 11 day run before coming to an end at Leh on the 9th of September, 2018. 40 participants in 13 vehicles apart from the Convoy Lead, Ambulance and Service Vehicles, moved past Sangla, Kaza, Jispa, Sarchu, Leh, Pangong Tso Lake & Hundar and across high mountain passes including Kunzum, Baralacha, Tanglang La, Chang La & Khardung La.

The participating vehicles included a combination of premium vehicles such as Land Rover Freelanders, Land Rover Discovery Sport, Ford Endeavour, Toyota Fortuners, Toyota Prados, Volkswagen Tiguan, Audi Q3, Audi Q7 among others. The Convoy Lead vehicle was a Isuzu MUX and Service and Sweep vehicle was a Isuzu DMax V Cross, provided by Isuzu Motors India.

The expedition passed several beautiful lakes as well as deep gorges of the Satluj, Chandra, Bhaga, Indus & Zanskar rivers. The participants acquainted themselves with the Buddhist heritage of Ladakh with visits to various monastries. The event witnessed participation by people from various parts of India including Delhi, Kolkatta, Mumbai, Chennai, Mysore, Pune, Ahmedabad, Anand, Panipat, Chandigarh, Parwanoo and Pathankot.
