The eigth edition of the Himalayan Dash started after a pre-event cocktail at The Oberoi Wildflower Hall Shimla and covered more than 1,500 kms over its 10 day run before coming to an end at Leh on the 9th of September, 2017. 21 participants in 6 vehicles apart from an Ambulance and a Service Vehicle, moved past Sangla, Kaza, Jispa, Sarchu, Leh, Pangong Tso Lake & Hundar and across high mountain passes including Kunzum, Baralacha, Tanglang La, Chang La & Khardung La.

The participating vehicles included a combination of premium vehicles such as Land Rover Freelander, Ford Endeavour, Toyota Innova, Mitsubishi Pajero, among others.

The expedition passed several beautiful lakes as well as deep gorges of the Satluj, Chandra, Bhaga, Indus & Zanskar rivers. The participants acquainted themselves with the Buddhist heritage of Ladakh with visits to the Shey, Thiksey & Diskit monastries. The event witnessed participation by people from various parts of India including Mumbai & Hyderabad.
