LEH TO SRINAGAR: June 24-30, 2023

Day 1: June 24, 2023 (Saturday) – Leh

Welcome to “Little Tibet”, Leh. When you arrive, you’ll be greeted at your hotel and spend the day resting to acclimatise.

Day 2: June 25, 2023 (Sunday) – Leh

Today is a day to further relax and unwind. After a late breakfast, you will spend the day at leisure or indulge in short drives to visit the Indian Army’s Hall of Fame, the gravity defying Magnetic Hill, the highly revered Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, the confluence of Indus and Zanskar rivers or the Shey Palace and Thiksey Gompa. The old town, with the Leh Palace, Shanti Stupa, the lofty peaks, and the local food and drink make exploring this city truly unequalled.

Day 3: June 26, 2023 (Monday) – Leh to Padum to Purne: 347 Km | 8.5 hrs

An early start in preparation for one of the most breathtaking drives of your journey. This picturesque and awe-inspiring route will see you ascending and passing through some of the most stunning passes, including Sirsir La (15,761 ft.) and Singe La (16,590 ft.) and driving on roads that are yet to be put on google maps. Zanskar valley is a desolate paradise known for its other-worldly desert landscape fringed by magnificent snow-capped mountains. You will pass Padum, the headquarters of Zanskar and arrive at Purne to unwind after a day full of driving pleasure.

Day 4: June 27, 2023 (Tuesday) – Purne

A day of rest to unwind and explore the Zanskar valley. You can embark on an optional trek to the Phugtal Gompa, in the remotest corner of Lungnak Valley. Built within a natural cave, it is considered one of the most enthralling sites in the entire region. You can also visit Gonbo Ranjan, an unconnected lofty rocky mountain considered divine and called God’s Mountain by the locals who practice Tibetan Buddhism. You can drive to Shinku La (16,615 ft.), a high pass on the border between Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh covered in snow all year round.

Day 5: June 28, 2023 (Wednesday) – Purne to Padum to Kargil: 300 Km | 8.5 hrs

Another early start for a breathtaking drive across the Pensi La (14,436 ft) and through the Suru Valley and that will take you to Rangdum and onwards to the town of Kargil, the joint capital of Ladakh. You can spend the evening relaxing or exploring the town.

Day 6: June 29, 2023 (Thursday) – Kargil to Srinagar: 210 Km | 6.5 hrs

You’ll check out and drive to visit the Kargil War memorial at Drass, in the vicinity of Tiger Hill and Tololing. You will continue across Zozi La (11,575 ft) and descend into Sonamarg before arriving at Srinagar. You can spend the evening exploring the city or relaxing and unwinding at the hotel.

Welcome to “The Switzerland of India”, Srinagar. When you arrive, you’ll be greeted at your hotel and spend the day in this stunning city. After your day of leisure, spend the evening getting to know your fellow travellers over a pre-drive briefing.

Day 2: July 4, 2023 (Tuesday) – Srinagar to Kargil: 210 Km | 6.5 hrs

You’ll check out of the hotel to drive to Sonamarg and ascend to Zozi La (11,575 ft). You will drive onwards to visit the Kargil War memorial at Drass, in the vicinity of Tiger Hill and Tololing.
